Herausgeber Thomas Tetzner präsentiert gemeinsam mit Sepp of Vienna und Andreas Brunner, Co-Leiter von QWIEN – Zentrum für queere Geschichte, das Buch „Spielen am Rand“. Lange Zeit strafrechtlich verfolgt, tabuisiert und ausgegrenzt, ist die schwule Leder- und Fetisch-Szene heute lebendiger und vielfältiger denn je. Es geht nicht nur um Sex. Es geht auch um Liebe, Partnerschaften, Identitäten. Das Buch gibt erstmals einen umfassenden Einblick in die Entwicklung der schwulen Leder- und Fetisch-Szene seit den 1960er-Jahren. Im Zentrum dieser reich bebilderten Veröffentlichung stehen über 50 Interviews mit Männern der Jahrgänge 1940 bis 2000. Sie geben Auskunft über ihre schwulen Fetisch-Identitäten, ihre Partnerschaften und alle bedeutenden Strömungen der Szene: Stiefel, Jeans und Leder, Uniform, Gummi und Neopren, Workwear, Punks & Skins, Motocross, Lycra, Sneakers, Sports & Scally , Age, Pet & Cos Play und vieles mehr. At this event, the volume editor Thomas Tetzner, together with the artist Sepp of Vienna and Andreas Brunner, co-director of QWIEN (Center for Queer History), will introduce the book Playing on the Edge: 60 years living on the gay leather and fetish scene. Long prosecuted, excluded, and a social taboo, the gay leather and fetish scene is now more lively and diverse than ever. It’s not just about sex. It’s also about love, about relationships, about identities. The book provides the first comprehensive insight into the development of the gay leather and fetish scene since the 1960s. At the centre of this richly illustrated publication are over 50 interviews with men born between 1940 and 2000. They provide information about their gay fetish identities, their relationships and all the important trends in the scene: boots, jeans and leather, uniforms, rubber and neoprene, workwear, punks & skins, motocross, lycra, sneakers, sports & scally, age, pet & cos play and much more. The interviews printed in the book are supplemented by extensive illustrations and by contributions on the development of the scene, for example on decriminalization in the 1960s, the sexual revolution in the 1970s, HIV and AIDS in the 1980s, the new beginning in the 1990s, and of course on the changes of the last 20 years, such as the virtualization of gay life or the diversification and change of gay identities in the current scene. | Please note that, for this event, your fetish outfit should be decent and genitals should be covered.
